Introduction The 4 Strings – Pioneer Bk 3 String Quartet Parts is a music book product that contains three progressive collections of contemporary string quartet repertoire from leading composers. It is compiled and edited by Liz Partridge, and each volume contains graded works commissioned especially for this series designed for quartets formed of players of similar ability. The music book features a mixture of musical styles and genres, with each piece containing different elements and techniques to consolidate and enhance the players’ skills as soloists and as ensemble members. An accompanying CD provides demonstration recordings of all included pieces, and minus-one tracks are available to download/stream online to allow for individual practice between rehearsals. Many of the quartets have been expanded for optional use as string orchestra repertoire, and augmented scores and parts are available to purchase and download online. The music book is suitable for new and developing ensembles, flourishing ensembles, and established ensembles of grade 1-8 standard.
