A Collaboration, not a Signature For over 20 years Joe Satriani has tasked Alan Rosen of Bananas At Large with finding the perfect amplifiers for his needs. Joe and Alan have tried every high-gain amp on the market, many unique boutique brands and models, and even have imported amps from all around the world to try to find that one special amp that does it all for Joe. When Sammy Hagar announced the tour that will pay tribute to the songs of Van Halen with Joe at the helm, Alan knew it was time to custom-build THE amp to fit the VH tones and cover Joes needs. He went right to a trusted, long-time friend and ex-Bananas At Large employee Dylana Scott of 3rd Power. Alan and Dylana spoke at length, reinforcing Alans opinion that only Dylana could make what Joe needed. With that Joe, Dylana, and Bananas At Large have come together to create The DRAGON SERIES AMPLIFIERS: A series of amplifiers designed to take the electric guitar to new heights of expression. The DG212 is the perfect companion to the DRAGON 45 amp head. The DG212 features two isolated chambers for outstanding mono or stereo 212 sound. Patented Design Crafted from 5/8 birch, the DG212 features embedded triangular speaker chambers to eliminate standing waves and internal reflections. With construction features including isolated speaker chambers (one open, one closed) and a tuned triangle port, the DG212 delivers your full frequency response with a detail and punch that sounds like a mastered record and wont get lost in the mix. Mono, Stereo, WDW Operating Modes W/D/W, Mono, Stereo, X-pattern, 4 Channel Operating Modes X-pattern operation is totally possible. Each speaker is addressable individually, as a 412, as two separate 212s (vertical or horizontal), or in the wet/dry/wet configuration. Suggested Wet/Dry/Wet rig setup: Your dry head runs the bottom two speakers as a mono 212. Your main amp will drive the stereo FX processor. The stereo wet output from your processor will feed a stereo power amp (not included). The power amp drives the top two speakers in stereo for you wet effects sound. I recommend the dry signal be placed on the bottom as it keeps the sonic blast from blowing into the lead or BG vox on stage. Low end coupling from the stage/studio floor is usually a benefit as well. Effects are spatial enhancement and theyre going to be more effective positioned higher. Stereo spread will be more noticeable as well. Patch-bay Configurations Jack #1: 16 ohm mono cabJack #2: 8 ohm top two speakers in mono onlyJack #3: 16 ohm top right speaker onlyJack #2 and #3: top speakers 16 ohms each in stereoJack #4: 8 ohm bottom two speakers in mono onlyJack #5: 16 ohm bottom right speaker onlyJack #4 and #5: bottom speakers 16 ohms each in stereoJack #2 and #4: 8 ohms top two speakers in mono, 8 ohms bottom two speakers in monoJack #4, #2 and #3: 8 ohms mono bottom speakers, 16 ohms each top stereo speakers for WDW NOTE: To run stereo L&R only, you will need two separate amplifiers. Using the 2x 8 ohm jacks on the back of amp one, plug each into jacks #2 and #4. On amp two, again using the 2x 8 ohm jacks, plug each one into jacks #3 and #5. In essence, youre addressing the separate speaker chambers as if they were individual cabinets.
